NTB Exported 11.500 Tons of Corn to Philippine, The Target is 30.000 Tons in 2018.

suaranusa.com, Mataram— The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province this year has exported again 11.500 Tons of corn to the markets of Philippine. This is the second time of exporting this flagship commodities to Philippines after 2016.

The Export in 2018 is performed at Badas Harbour, Sumbawa, on Tuesday 20 March and attended by several officials of  Ministry of Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce, Indonesia National Army (TNI), Indonesian Police Republic (Polri) Local Officials government, and the farmers.

Governor of NTB province TGB Zainul Majdi said, This export is a form of NTB Government’s to support national food security. So, the export target is 30,000 tons of produced in 2018.

“This export’s activities can be encouraging to us by showing that NTB will always contribute positively to national development,” TGB said Tuesday (20/3/2018)

He added, last year, NTB Province has also exported corns to outside regions of Indonesia and foreign countries. Because, NTB Province has been established as a national food storage area by the central government.

Governor also appreciated and respected to all the corn farmers of NTB for their efforts to increase corn production.

“Thanks to the hard work of our farmers. Corn Production in 2017 increased 1 million tons more than the previous year, 1.1 million tons in 2016, so the result 2.127 million tons in 2017,” he said.
